The score was only 15-12 after a quarter of play before San Clemente stepped up the pressure, outscoring Northwood by at least eight in each remaining quarter.
Usually content to be a facilitator, Nick Crankshaw ramped up his personal scoring en route to a game-high 21 points, which is the highest point total for any Triton player in any division so far this season. Crankshaw also continued his pattern of filling the stat sheet with four rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three blocked shots.
Austin Miller with 12 and Cole Fotheringham with 10 were the other Tritons in double figures. The duo also led the team in rebounding with six and seven, respectively.
Other scorers were Elijah Morris, 8; Vince Smetona, 6; Rico Young, Jr., 4; Joe Mann, 3; and Sam Brown, Cade Griffin and Scott Herrod, 2 each.
The Tritons (3-4) are back in tournament action at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against Esperanza at Irvine High School.
