Keying the win were a trio of triple doubles by Andrew Frohner, Dylan Hauser and Lukas Katsandris. Frohner, who has become the team's starting shooting guard, scored a game-high 15 points while grabbing 12 rebounds, seven of them offensive. Hauser, the starting point guard who was missing from the early loss to Santa Margarita, had 11 points and 10 assists. And Lukas Katsandris, who has evolved into the team's sixth man and energy-injection off the bench, scored 11 to go with a like number of rebounds. Aidan Butler also had double figure rebounds to go with his 8 points. Donte Harrington and Dillon Waikle each scored 5.
San Clemente never trailed in the game, leading 13-10 after the first quarter and 31-21 at the half, while repeatedly threatening to blow the game open. But Tartan three pointers closed the margin several times.
The Tritons' offensive patience against Santa Margarita's zone forced the Tartans into a man defense in the fourth quarter, which allowed San Clemente to run deep into the shot clock on most possessions to secure the victory.
