Against Mission Viejo, the sophomores trailed by 14 at the half, giving up 30 points to the Diablos. San Clemente cut the deficit to only six at the end of three periods. Then, despite holding Mission Viejo to only four fourth-quarter points, the Tritons couldn't muster enough offense of their own in the final period, scoring only seven. Hunter Knight's three-pointer with 32 second left in the game brought San Clemente to within three, as close as it got.
Michael Moran led San Clemente scoring with 11 points. Coupling this with 10 rebounds continued his string of double-double performances during the second half of the season. Four players scored five points each for the Tritons: Trevor Ankrom, Zach Cochran, Luke Melby and Jimmy Varos. Kai Nguyen added three points, and Tyler Hickey one.
