San Clemente led 23-19 at the half and seemed primed to start pulling away from El Toro when the Chargers three-point barrage began. The lead was cut to three, 36-33, at the end of three periods. The El Toro shooters stayed hot in the fourth, while the Tritons went cold. The Chargers outscored San Clemente18-6 in the final period to pull away for the win.
Chris Kane with 13 and Branden Wilson with 11 led Triton scoring. San Clemente also got eight from Nick Martino, four from Bryce Wilson, and two each from Logan Dunnwald, Max Marshall and Austin Whitsett.
The Triton Frosh returns to action in a special MLK Day matinee on Monday when it hosts Corona del Mar at noon.
