Holding El Toro to only free throws for the first quarter and a half, the Triton Frosh defeated the Chargers 58-35 to win the consolation championship of the El Toro Tournament. San Clemente led 18-4 at the end of the first period, building to a 20-point halftime margin, which it built on to the final buzzer.
Chris Kane led the way with 15 points, but 11 Tritons scored. Branden Wilson tallied eight points, while Ryan Cattich and Bryce Wilson notched six each. Other San Clemente scoring came from Max Marshall and Michael McGreevy with five each; Calvin Pastel, four; Nick Martino, three; and Logan Dunnwald, Austin Whitsett and Robert Young, two each.
The Triton Frosh return to action at 3:40 p.m. December 27 when they take on the winner of El Toro and Foothill at the El Toro Tournament.
