Serra, San Clemente gave up a tip-in basket with 8.6 seconds remaining to lose the championship game of the Diablo Inferno Tournament.
Clovis West (12-2) held San Clemente, which came into the game averaging 72.1 points per game, to its lowest scoring total of the season. It also held the Tritons to single-digit scoring in two quarters for the first time, 9 points in both the second and fourth quarter.
San Clemente trailed 28-23 at the half, then rallied in the third period to take a 41-38 lead into the final period. The Eagles outscored the Tritons 13-9 in the fourth.
Triton scoring was led by Cole Fotheringham with 11 and Dillon Waikle with 10. Jake Cameron and Blake Birmingham each scored 8, while James Paterson added 7 and Gage Shelmidine 6.
