The win allowed San Clemente to complete a sweep of three division from Steele Canyon, which lost to the Triton J.V. and frosh earlier in the evening.
Elijah Morris led all scorers with 16 points in only 20 minutes of playing time. He was only one of the Tritons whose minutes to points ratios were outstanding. The best of these was forward Vince Smetona, seeing his first varsity playing time since being called up from the junior varsity earlier in the week. He had 9 points in only 8 minutes. And guard Joe Mann had 11 points in only 13 minutes.
Cade Griffin was the only other San Clemente player in double figures with 12. Austin Miller and Nick Crankshaw each had 7; Cole Fotheringham, 6; Sam Brown, Scott Herrod and Rico Young, 2; and Torrey Larson, 1.
The varsity returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Northwood High School at Northwood in the first round of the Irvine World News Tournament.
