The Tritons jumped out to a 20-17 lead at the end of the first quarter behind Nick Martino, who scored eight of his 10 points in the opening stanza. After an evenly played second period (13-13), San Clemente added a little padding in the third to take a 47-42 lead into the fourth. That's when the Triton defense began its lockdown, and the rout was on.
Joining Martino in double figures for the Tritons was Branden Wilson with a game-high 14 and Chris Kaen with 13. Additional San Clemente scoring came from Max Marshall, seven; Logan Dunnwald, six; Jacob Nemeth and Bryce Wilson, five each; Austin Whitsett, three; and Robert Young, two.
The Triton Frosh returns to action at 4 p.m. Wednesday when it hosts Mission Viejo in a South Coast League game.
