In the El Toro game, neither team threatened to blow it open until the fourth period, when the Tritons opened their largest lead of the game. And it might have turned into somewhat of a blowout if the normally good free throw-shooting Tritons didn't miss 11 charity shots in the fourth quarter. Nonetheless, they held on with a somewhat comfortable margin.
Balanced team scoring was led by Kai Hadsall and Michael Moran with 11 points each. Moran combined his with 10 rebounds a double-double, something that is becoming a habit for him. Additonal San Clemente scoring came from Trevor Ankrom with seven points; Luke Melby, six; Matt Kerr and Jimmy Varos, five each; and Kai Nguyen, two.
