Gage Shelmdine and Dillon Waikle, who each had 17 points in the championship game, were named to the All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the event. Jake Cameron led San Clemente with 20 points, all in the first half. These included four first-quarter three pointers for the second consecutive game. Michael Moran added 8; Blake Birmingham, 6, and Roberto Medrano, 4.
Cameron's early sharpshooting staked the Tritons to a 24-18 lead at the end of the first quarter. But J. Serra came back in the second quarter to take a one-point lead into intermission. San Clemente was only able to get the hot-handed Cameron two shots for the remainder of the game. The Lions remained hot through the early portion of the third quarter, building the game's biggest lead, 12, with 1:40 remaining in the period.
Then a steal and break-away basket by Medrano ignited a Triton run that saw them outscore J. Serra by 20 over the next seven minutes, before the Lions' decisive final run.
San Clemente's next game is its 2015-16 season opener at 7 p.m. Thursday against Woodbridge, which finished fourth in the Diablo Inferno Tournament
