As if the celebration of Triton Basketball's 50th Anniversary season weren't enough, Head Coach Marc Popovich has released 2014-15 schedules that are chock full of special events.
The 50th Anniversary Extrava-ganza will be held on January 23 in conjunction with the Tritons' South Coast League contest against Dana Hills. Prior to that game, the program will present those players selected to the 50 at 50 Team, the 50 greatest players in Triton hoops history.
For the season overall, things get started on November 15 when all teams scrimmage against Trabuco Hills. This represents a change in the Tritons' traditional scrimmage opponent, formerly Aliso Niguel. With San Clemente moving up to the South Coast League, the teams opted to change their scrimmage partners to teams they will not face in league.
In addition to Aliso Niguel and San Clemente, the South Coast League includes Dana Hills, El Toro and Mission Viejo. League play will open January 14. The teams will play each other twice in league, home and away.
The varsity will host its annual Alumni Game, conveniently scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, the night before Thanksgiving.
After that, there will a lot going on in Triton Basketball. Not the least of this is the Triton Varsity's competition in the Cactus Jam Hoops Classic on December 26-30 in Tempe, Arizona. See sidebar for more information about this tourney.

On the junior varsity level, the Tritons will take on a new tournament, Sage Creek in Carlsbad on December 1-6. The J.V. also will return to the El Toro Tournament (December 15-20), where it will be the defending champion, and the Dana Hills Tourney (December 26-30).
