A celebration of life for Kelly Mitchell, the long-time official photographer of Triton Basketball who passed away on May 8, will be held at noon June 19 at Calafia State Beach. According to Kelly's wife, Karen, "Kelly was an ocean lover so whoever wants to, we are meeting to boogie board, surf, swim, wade, throw flowers in the water, etc. in Kelly's honor."
The celebration will conclude with a reception from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Mitchell residence, 2316 Via Clavel in San Clemente.
The last photo Kelly Mitchell took for Triton Basketball was appropriately a celebration of its back-to-back South Coast League championships.
