This showed itself early when the team scored only six first-quarter points. The Tritons got things going a little bit better in the second, scoring 16, but still trailed 31-22 at the half. They used defensive pressure to rally within six points several times in the second half. However, the Tritons never got closer than that.
Nick Crankshaw was the only San Clemente player to score in double figures. He had 11 points, along with 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Cole Fotheringham added 9 points and 7 rebounds. Joe Mann and Gage Shelmidine had 8 points each; Austin Miller, 6; Cade Griffin, 5; Scott Herrod, 3; and Rico Young, 2.
The Triton Varsity returns to action at 7 p.m. Saturday when it travels to Dana Hills for a Sea View League showdown with the Dolphins.
